Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your use of:​

  • Linked programs: YUVA SETU, Community Library initiatives, training registration forms, donation pages, newsletters, social channels, and any microsites we operate (together, the “Services”).

You are a “User” if you visit, browse, donate, register, volunteer, enroll in a program, or submit any content.

Legal disclaimer

  1. The Sites provide general information about our initiatives, events, training, and community services. Nothing on the Sites is professional, medical, legal, financial, or safety advice.

  2. Training content, videos, articles, or posts are for educational/awareness purposes only. Always consult a qualified professional where appropriate (e.g., health, legal, electrical/technical work, drone operations, etc.).

  3. While we try to keep information accurate and current, we do not guarantee completeness, timeliness, or error‑free content. Use the information at your own discretion and risk.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Services, or by clicking “I Agree”/submitting a form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy (together, the “Agreement”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

  • If you use the Services on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you have legal authority to bind that person or entity to this Agreement.

Eligibility & local compliance

  1. You must be capable of forming a legally binding contract under Indian law. For minors (under 18), a parent/guardian must consent and supervise usage, registrations, and payments.

  2. You are responsible for complying with all local laws applicable to you, including those relating to internet use, content, drones/technical training, and data protection.

Accounts, registrations & identity

  1. Some Services require an account or form submission (e.g., course enrolment, library card, volunteering). You agree to:

    • Provide accurate, current, and complete information

    • Keep your credentials secure and notify us of any unauthorized use

    • Not impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation

  2. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate any registration or account at our discretion, including for misuse or non‑compliance.

Donations, fees & payments

  1. Donation pages may be hosted by us or by third‑party payment gateways (e.g., Razorpay/PayU). Your payments are subject to both these Terms and the gateway’s terms and privacy policies.

  2. Donations are generally non‑refundable. However, if you believe an error occurred (duplicate charge/amount), contact us at [donations@arisesociety.co.in] within 7 days with proof; we will review and, if appropriate, process a reversal to the original method.

  3. Tax receipts/80G (if applicable) and statutory acknowledgements will be issued subject to compliance and availability of correct donor details. Keep your email and postal information updated.

Program registrations, attendance & certificates

  1. Seats in trainings (e.g., YUVA SETU, library workshops) are limited and may be allocated on first‑come, merit, or priority criteria (e.g., girls, first‑generation learners), at our discretion.

  2. We may reschedule, modify, or cancel sessions/events due to operational reasons. Where feasible, we will notify registrants via email/SMS/WhatsApp.

  3. Certificates of participation/completion are subject to attendance, assessments, conduct, and project work as defined per program.

  4. For skills involving tools/equipment (e.g., sewing, electrician basics, drones), users must follow safety instructions. You accept all risks associated with participation. Minors require guardian consent.

Library & centre rules

  1. Maintain silence and respectful behaviour; follow staff instructions.

  2. Keep books, computers, and infrastructure safe. Late returns, loss, or damage may attract penalties or replacement at cost.

  3. Internet access is for research, applications, and learning—no illegal downloading, pornography, hate, harassment, or abuse.

User content & permissions

  1. You may submit content (forms, feedback, photos, assignments). You retain your rights but grant us a worldwide, royalty‑free, non‑exclusive licence to use, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute such content for program administration, publicity, and reporting, including CSR communications.

  2. You confirm you have the necessary rights/permissions for any content you submit and that it does not infringe others’ rights or applicable law.

  3. We may moderate, edit, or remove content at our discretion.

Photo/Video consent

By entering our events/centres, you consent to photography/audio‑video for documentation and social impact storytelling across our channels and partners. If you prefer not to be recorded, please inform the coordinator at entry; we will make reasonable efforts to honour your request.

11) Intellectual Property (IP)

  1. All materials on the Sites—text, graphics, logos, photos, videos, training modules, and software—are our property or used under licence and protected by IP laws.

  2. You may access and print limited pages for personal, non‑commercial use. Any other use (copying, sharing full modules, resale, training reuse) requires prior written permission.

  3. If you believe your IP is used without authorization, email [ip@arisesociety.in] with details; we will investigate and act as required by law.

Acceptable use & prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Violate any law, threaten or harass others, or post hateful/obscene content

  • Upload malware, attempt to breach security, or interfere with the Sites

  • Use bots/scrapers without our written consent

  • Misuse training to perform unsafe or illegal activities (e.g., unlicensed electrical work, unsafe drone flying)

  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliations

Third‑party services & links

The Sites may link to third‑party websites, tools, or payment gateways. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Use them at your own risk.

Privacy & cookies

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy (separate documents). We use cookies/analytics to operate and improve the Sites. You can manage preferences via your browser and our cookie banner.

Accessibility

We strive to make our Sites accessible. If you face barriers, contact arisesocietyorai@gmail.com. We will take reasonable steps to assist.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

  1. The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability).

  2. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, revenue, profits, or reputation arising from or related to your use of the Services, training, or equipment—even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

  3. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability to any User shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the previous three (3) months for the specific Service giving rise to the claim.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Arise Society, its officers (including the Secretary), employees, trainers, and volunteers from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your: (a) use of the Services; (b) violation of these Terms or law; (c) content you submit; or (d) unsafe/unauthorized use of tools or training.

Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Sites or Services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct we believe violates this Agreement or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately; clauses intended to survive will continue (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability).

Changes to the Sites/Services

We may modify or discontinue any part of the Sites or Services (including training schedules, content, or features) at any time without liability. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice for material changes where feasible.

Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. The updated Terms will be posted with a new “Last updated” date and become effective upon posting unless stated otherwise. Continued use means you accept the changes.

Governing law, jurisdiction & disputes

  1. This Agreement is governed by the laws of India.

  2. Subject to the arbitration clause below, courts at Orai, District Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

  3. Arbitration: Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be referred to a sole arbitrator appointed by Arise Society, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and its amendments. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be Orai, Uttar Pradesh. The proceedings shall be in English/Hindi. The arbitral award shall be final and binding.

Communications & consent

  1. You consent to receive operational emails/SMS/WhatsApp regarding registrations, reminders, and updates. You can opt out of non‑essential communications via provided links or by contacting us.

  2. For WhatsApp, you authorize us to send transactional messages to your registered number per WhatsApp’s terms and applicable law.

Placement & partnership disclaimers

While we strive to support internships, apprenticeships, and jobs through our network, we do not guarantee employment. Participation in any partner program is subject to the partner’s independent terms and selections.

Health, safety & equipment

  1. Users must follow all safety protocols and instructor guidance, including PPE where applicable.

  2. You are responsible for your personal health/fitness to participate. Notify staff of any medical conditions or allergies beforehand.

  3. For equipment usage (sewing machines, basic electrical kits, drones, computers), use at your own risk and under supervision where required.

Refunds, cancellations & rescheduling (programs)

  1. Free programs: No fees collected; if you cannot attend, please cancel early so another learner can take the seat.

  2. Paid workshops/events (if any): Cancellations requested ≥72 hours before start may receive a full refund minus gateway charges; otherwise non‑refundable. If we cancel/reschedule, you may opt for a full refund or transfer, at your choice.

Complaints & grievance redressal

For concerns about content, conduct, or safety, email [grievance@arisesociety.in] with details and evidence. We aim to acknowledge within 72 hours and resolve within a reasonable time.

Entire agreement & severability

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
